Anyone have any info or a web site on the new Springfield M1A Socom 16 rifle??? Springfield does not have it on their web site yet.

I was going to post the same question.....

I can't figure out what is different between the SOCOM 16 and the M1A Scout.

They had the SOCOM in G&A but did'nt have any real info on it.

well, for one, the M1A Scout has an 18" barrel.

Springfield also states that the compensator/gas block combo is going through the patent process. Normally a 16 inch barrel wouldn't reliably cycle the rifles action. The improved compensator and gas block "so-called" made it reliable. We'll see.
