After getting two AR's this year that have given me less than stellar accuracy, I am considering just quit screwing around with these two and going with match-grade barrel(s).

I have a fast 1:8 twist RRA for heavier bullets and a slower 1:10 twist Oly that I cannot get what I think I should out of them. 1" groups at 100 yards just do NOT excite me. Can anyone give me some recommendations on brand/makers to look at for supreme accuracy?

Krieger, go through Compass Lake or Accuracy Speaks.

You have that backwards.  The 1:8 is the fast twist and the 1:10 is the slow one.

Semantics, I know, but I thought I'd point that out just in case you were also switching the ammo weight you used in each.

Fast twist = heavy ammo
slow twist = light ammo

There are many good barrels out there that will deliver the kind of accuracy you desire. However, just as important if not more so is the yahoo that chambers and installs it. You can have a real assclown install the best barrel made and you will end up with a POS. That being said, I would find a good AR gunsmith like Frank White or John Holliger and go from there. There are many good barrels to go with.

I would venture to say it is IMPOSSIBLE to make an AR barrel less or more accurate through installation.  Any monkey can install an AR barrel... with no torque wrench no less and never screw it up.

I second the Accuracy Speaks reccomendation.  They are among the best barrels period and certainly for ready to install AR barrels.
