I'm looking for a flattop upper without the forward assist or brass deflector.
I have a DPMS LoPro on a bull barreled upper, but the sides are thick and overbuilt for a fixed-mag AR pistol I'm building.
Les Baer makes one without the F/A
but I'd like one without the brass deflector as well, if possible. Kind of like the old Colt A-1 uppers but in a flattop.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Otto

Check with Rock River, they use one for their 9mm uppers. I *think* it's a slickside, I know it has no forward assist, but I'm not positive if it's flat under their removable 9mm deflector.

Thanks, Treetop
I've sent out some inquiries to RRA dealers about just that.

Its a bit more that the Les Baer, but if it works, it'll be worth it.

Thanks again, Otto

Just make sure that they have a hole for the gas tube because the majority of 9mm uppers do not have one.

Thanks, I received news that I'd need to break out the drill. Not a problem, but a hassle.

New question: Anyone know of a price better than $145-150 range?

I understand prices will be higher for these due to the lesser demand/volume, but cheaper is better.

Thanks again, Otto
