I recently purchased an Oly CAR 97 and wanted to spif it up a little. I put in a Ti firing pin from CTD and found that it seemed to keep the locking lugs engaged and wouldn't let the bolt unlock.  It seemed to be a much tighter fit than the original steel pin.  The gun is new and only has 20 rounds thru it. Will it loosen up after awhile and let me install the Ti pin, or should I send it back to CTD?  Also, any experience with this rifle?

"Spiff it up?"

Get your money back for the Ti firing pin, it's fluff, not spiff.  [;)]

I agree. The only thing you really lightened was your wallet. Titanium firing pins are a rip off. All you do to trash it and throw away $35 is just pierce one primer.

I'd be willing to bet that the two most common "Seemed like a good idea at the time" mistakes people make when first owning an AR are aftermarket "USA" magazines and titanium firing pins.

Like the others have stated, titanium has no place in a firearm.  Do all you can to return it to CTD.

I would add redi-mag to that list too.

I agree with the above esteem posters.  reinstall your old steel pin.
