[ARCHIVED THREAD] - AR Upper

I currently own a RRA Varmint that has the ss 20" barrel, way to heavy for offhand shooting. I'm looking at getting a regular upper to snap on. I'm not sure if I should get the flattop and a carry handle or just get the regular A2 upper.

Is it that difficult to use a red dot or scope from standard A2 carry handle arrangement?

(Oh yea, is $425 complete from RRA still the best price around?)
