I frequently see rifles with collapsible stocks and rubber pads installed.  Can anyone recommend a rubber pad and where to purchase it?  Are some better than others?

Thanks!

Some (like mine) have horizontal ridges on the back, while others are smooth.  Also, there's a difference between those for the older CAR stocks and those for the newer ribbed style, so be sure to get the right kind.

Check out Bushmaster's:

These make shouldering the rifle is so much more comfortable.

I'm looking for a M4 Caribine Stock Pad too.  Does anyone have any opinions on this one: http://www.sogarmory.com/cat.asp?display=big&searchstr=101237

Thanks,

Bill,
That looks the same as the one on mine.  I dont' recall spending that much though.  I got mine so the stock wouldn't slip, not for recoil.  Works great!

Also, on the older style stocks, like my SP1 collapsible, it lengthens the assembly out to about the same as the current M4 style, and gives us 6 footers the ability to shoot our rifles w/o scrunching out noses up against the cocking handle[:D]
