Who makes the highest quality chrome 1/7 twist barrels? Thanks, |
| Only Colt and Bushmaster are used by the US military. There is a barrel out there by DPMS that supposedly has 4150 steel 1/7 twist M4 contour 14.5" chrome lined and the colt feed ramps. I have never seen it in person but it was more expensive than the $175 I paid for my Bushmaster M4 1/7 barrel. Bushmaster has a few contract overrun barrel RIGHT NOW and they only make em once a year so call em and get em for $185 from them if you can. There are only a few left. |

Diemaco does not sell to civies. Bushmaster does not make barrels for the US Army (their one time blip was in 91 gearing for the Gulf) I have seen 1:7 DPMS M4 barrels but DevL is right the Bushy 1:7 is cheaper (but w/o the M4 feedramp cuts) Colt www.sawlesales.com www.mstn.biz |

Both Colt, and Bushmaster make high quality barrels. Quoted: Colt, and they are gov't inspected for issue to troops and have been doing them since Nam. no one else can say that about the 5.56 barrels. good shootin, Jack Colt has not been makeing 1/7 twist barrels, or chrome lined barrels since Nam. Check out the DPMS chrome-lined 1/7 barrels. Colt has not been makeing 1/7 twist barrels, or chrome lined barrels since Nam I have two brand new 16" M4 chrome-lined 1/7 Colt barrels at home so either these are left over from Vietnam or they started making them again. Marc |

Marc Well M4 profile barrels did not exist during Vietnam. Further they did not use 1/7" twist, chrome lined barrels at the time either. On another note does anyone know where I could purchase chrome lined 16" barrels with 1/7" twist? The Azalin |

Quoted: If you must have 16" Colt is your only choice. Get ready to pay 50-100% more than a Bushmaster. I prefer to have 16" barrels so I don't have to use it exclusively on my MG or register another rifle as an SBR. I like the flash hider to be removable, so permanently attaching one is not an option for me either. A friend of mine has one of DPMS's 20", A2 profile barrels that is chrome lined. It is has been reliable and as accurate as any Bushmaster, or Colt barrel that we have used. I hope DPMS's 16", 1-7", chrome lined barrels are as good because I really want one. The Azalin |
