Hey guys, just thought I would pass on a new stock to you...I ran into a guy at a gun show in Las Vegas, who mentioned their development of a new tactical stock that would be coming out soon.  And I finally found it.  Here's their web sire www.vltor.com I ordered the standard Modstock with the cheek plate and accessory compartments.  In speaking with these folks, this stock is under futher development to enhance the functionality of the standard M16/AR15 due to the light weight, accessory options for lithium batteries, etc.  Check it out...I will get some pics and post them here.

One of the guys involved with the development of this stock was Eugene Stoner's...I guess Protege for about 10 years, and was involved in the development of the SR-25.

Wow, another new guy with a low post count coming on board to comment on the great new stock from a company that no one else has ever heard of...

Seriously, if a manufacturer wants to promote his new product, he should just post as the company rep, and tell us about the product.  Using fake post names really damages the credibility of a new company.

The stock might be great, but people will be weary if they think they are being scammed.

Sorry if I'm completely off base here, but this is the third time I've heard about this new stock, and each time it was posted by folks with no previous posts or very few posts.

Sorry if you suspect I work for them or something, I have been in technology for 13 years, not weapons.  I just found this board after installing my stock from the guy I met at a gun show, no correlation and did not know there was another post on this.  Personally I could give a rip who you think I am, I guess these things happen often in forums, I was just trying to share a new product, and it's become obvious that these sort of postings are conspicuous.  No harm intended, I was just sharing what I thought some folks may be interested in.

Is that how you welcome people to the board HKocher?

Lets give people the benefit of the doubt.  I agree with your stance, but no reason to accuse someone with just that..... and put off someone who could be a valuable member.

In addition, anyone going into business to make more options for our weapon systems is WELCOME to me.  If a vendor DID do as you said, and posed as a member, then it would be better to welcome them, coax them into being an Dealer/Industry partner, and maybe even advertising here!  Lots of businesses start small.....

You catch more flies with honey.  Be sweet.

This seams weird as the shot show was not in vegas this year.  Are you saying you bumped into them last year and are just now posting.

Sorry, I mean last year, I just got the stock a couple of weeks ago. Man, what is it with the suspicion in here, you want to come visit me at work or something? I work for a Carrier Class broadband company, as the Regional Director...would you like some broadband?  It's ethernet, native IP backbone, dual DS3 with a microwave OC-3 for redundancy.  Generally we shoot last mile wireless, but in the 5.2 to 5.8 frequencies, as the 2.4 market is rather saturated.

Does that help alleviate any suspicions?  Man, I'll look for another forum to participate in if I am going to get challenged on posting a simple recommendation on a stock I just now received.  Are the Montana Freemen still around?>

Aside from the Shot show being in Orlando this year, and I never mentioned the Shot Show in the first place, coincidentally it was in Vegas last Feb, 2002...I met the Vltor guy at the Cashman Center Gun Show in December 2002, the first weekend I believe.  Not that it makes any difference, but it seems rather petty to challenge me on trivial fact, and not take someone's word for a recommendation.  I have lurked here from time to time, but have never registered, as I spend most of my time on another forum.  For those of you that care to discuss small arms in a respectable manner, I look forward to your advice and input.

Don't mind them tac opt, there have been a few peeps that pop out of nowhere to make some product endorsements and condescending statements, it's just bad luck you happened to show up with a product announcement/endorsement, the subject of this stock actually was in another thread earlier last week, the guy that started the thread was asked if he was working for the manufacturer too, lol.  So if there's comfort in collective misery, hope you don't feel singled out [:)]
BTW, welcome, we can always use another network engineer here [beer]

HKocher, what is up with the way you treat new members? Just because you have over 2000 posts does not mean that you are superior to anyone else here. Actually, it's probably time for a girlfriend?

Welcome Tactical-Option. It is cool to see new things from everyone!

As I said clearly in my post, "sorry, if I'm completely off base here."  So if I'm wrong, I again apologize, both to Tac-ops and the company Vltor.

You got me pegged wrong, I don't think I'm superior to anyone.  I just want the straight story.

At least I didn't stoop to personal insults like yourself, but I guess that's just a mark of veteran board member.[;)]  Oh well, I've developed a thick skin after my many long and  lonely nights of posting at AR15.com, just me, my computer and a bunch of other losers.[:D]

I have no problem with newbies.  Who else is going to be there to ask what BTT means, or what rifle Pacino used in HEAT???  What I do have a problem with misinformation.

The last guy who came around talking about this stock started rumors about the 'high' price of the soon to be released (hopefully) Crane stock and rumors of the military investigating 'stolen' Crane stocks.  And he also had a lot of inside info on this new company.  So maybe he had nothing to do with Vltor, or maybe he did, I don't know.  So maybe I jumped the gun this time.

As far as vendors posting as members, well that's just plain dishonest, and it's unfair to the vendors/manufacturers who contribute financially to this board (Magpul with their new stock and MSTN with the Crane stock to name a few).

Personally, I'm waiting on the Crane stock, but I would love to hear a detailed review of the Vltor stock once someone gets one in hand and puts in to the tests.  Who knows, perhaps I will buy a Vltor stock someday.

So in conclusion, I guess I need to spend more time away from the computer (2000 posts in 3 years ain't that much, just ask the Hun with over 13K).  And I apologize to Tac-ops and Vltor for being an ass, assuming that they are not the same person [;D]  So welcome to the friendly AR15.com board, if you haven't learned already, in ain't always friendly!

Back To Top. Its to bump the thread back to the top of the active topics page.

Is this stock postban legal? Maybe the rifle stock is? Thanks.

Yes, the postban version in the pic is on top, the other is the one that adapts to the pre-ban collapsable stocks.  I will take some pics when I make my next trip to the range, for a field report on it...and post them.
