| want to build spr who sells just the stainless barrels and matched bolt douglas or krieger have other components and want to build up myself thanks in advance |
| Just in case you don't want to build it yourself, I highly recommend MSTN. They have and can build full house, no-holds-barred SPR uppers, as close to the real thing as you can get (including the 2 port Ops. Inc. brake), and yes, they start with Compass Lake uppers made just for MSTN. Also, MSTN carries every other part you need. They are going to provide me with MY SPR upper. Shameless plug but wait till I post a pic of my dressed out M16 commando MSTN put together for me, it rocks! |

davkenrem, you busted me proper. Yes, the lower pic is the actual upper they built for me. I was waiting to post my own pic until I got the rest of it together. If you can visualize it, here is the lengthy list that either is what it became, or very nearly is now (just got a few more pieces to go). Here goes! Colt M16A1 RR lower Colt Commando late model (basically all M4 flat top configuration except barrel, including feed ramp cuts, "4" and "C MP" markings, medium weight barrel under the forend) KAC FF RAS,GG&G Flip up front, and PRI Fat Boy gas tube courtesy of MSTN KAC F/A 2 stage trigger Extended Bolt release with bolt hold lever pad Shell deflector and ejection port cover protector tabs Ambi Safety Ergo Grip & Grip Gapper Dual Pushpins Accuwedge (if I end up needing it) 6 pos M4 carbine stock (Bushy) KAC rear M4 stock QD sling swivel KAC Single Point QD Sling Receiver Plate PRI Gas Buster Charging Handle Match Chromed Bolt, Pin, and Carrier D-Fender Extractor ring Gem-Tech Bi-Lock A2 Flash Hider (for my M4-96D suppressor) ARMS #40 A2 Rear BUIS Both front & rear BUIS have tritium night sights installed KAC Forend Rail QD Sling Swivel ERGO 11deg canted vertical foregrip which holds spare SureFire batteries SureFire M951C white light, thumbscrew mount and pressure pad, P61 H/O lamp Trijicon Compact ACOG Wilderness Single point sling When I get my SureFire M952C throw lever 6v light body, I'll mate it to the L72 SureFire red laser, and either dump the M951C and get a M900A-WH grip, or keep the Ergo stick and put the laser on the other side, then later on I'll dump the L72 for the L80 green laser. I'll also have a Kuehl dedicated commando .22lr upper, cause I won't have any $$$ left to buy ammo! MSTN has, is, or will be supplying most all of the important components. I'm not going into combat with this rig, so no debate over combat worthiness of configuration or components. I also did not tell Wes about all the "unnecessary" gadget stuff so he doesn't roll his eyes (MSTN only stocks the real world combat worthy stuff, and doesn't stock the crap that is silly or don't work). This is just for fun so what the hell. I guess I will have to sell off some of my other uppers to finance the full house SPR upper the MSTN will be supplying/building me, and I just scored a pre-ban Bushy lower for it off of Gunbroker.com. Wes thinks I may be out of control, I don't know about that - I just keep sending him my paychecks. MSTN is truly a one stop shop - they have everything I want, and I want everything they have. Big plus is they know what the hell they are doing, and won't B.S. you. Will post picture of this monster when I am finished putting it together! |

Just wanted to pop in here and echo what the others are saying- If you don't want to assemble the upper yourself, Wes can put together an absolute work of art for you.. I'm not kidding- I purchased one of Wes Grant's SPR clones and the thing is both beautiful and scary accurate. I'm giving up coffee just so I can see how much of a tack driver it really is.. |
