| Well I bought an Armalite SPR and I was thinking of putting a free float tube on. Is this going to improve accuracy by much? I basically don't want to go through a bunch of money for marginal accuracy improvement. Plus the rifle has a muzzle brake attached, which may make getting the front sight/gas block off to put the tube on? I'm kind of new to this so some suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks |

It's a bitch. I have an SPR as well with the pined and welded muzzle brake which has to come off to remove the gas block. A float tube is the first thing you'll need for benchrest shooting. For practical shooting the sub-MOA that you're SPR ought to be good enough. Try swapping out the trigger to improve your groups and then if you really want I would just buy a complete upper rather then mess up a nice barrel. Sell off your old one if you have to. |
