Has anyone used this handguard? I would like to find out more about it. It looks solid and the price even looks better. Any pics? Check it out! www.triplebreakproducts.com/Olympic/firsh.htm

I know that there is a post below this, but it sounds like a fight about RIS and RAS. Nonsense!
I am looking for people who actually own, or have used the FIRSH.

Thanks!

I just received mine this past Friday and so far I have to say I'm more than pleased with it.
The only valid complaint I've heard from others is that it would work loose. Granted I've only had mine over the weekend, but we dumped 800 rounds thru it at the range and no problems.
She was comfortable to hold and NEVER worked loose. Best hundred dollar accessory I've ever bought. The new forward grip has Olympic Arms on it in white lettering. Hope this helps.

This is easily controlled by using some loctite in the locking screw.

For instructions on how to install FIRSH see: www.triplebreakproducts.com/Olympic/how_to_install_FIRSH.htm

Yea the change out was really easy, Just remember to buy new taper pins for the front sight base.I got the carbine length ones. Just another idea to ponder, The handguard cap will fit right inside the firsh at the point where the handguard cap and front sight come together. Some people leave it off and the front of it open. I like the closed off look better.

Putting the cap on increases heat retention.  If you havea  slow rate of fire, than fine.  If you are into FA, remove it!

Thanks for the heads up on the pins. I am placing my order tomorrow, can't wait. I have my new Aimpoint ML2 comming tomorrow from Wes at MSTN along w/ ARMS# 39 & #22M68 mounts.

The things we spend money on...?

Would like to post some Pics. once i get it all squared away. Do you have to be a paying member to do that?

Putting the cap on does increase the heat but like I said we dumped 800 rounds total thru it, and 60 rounds of that on full auto one mag after another and She was still comfortable to hold. All other fire was in burst with little or no difference in temp. Your mileage may vary.
Hope this helps.

Are you using any rail covers? If so, which ones? Do you have any Pics.  ?

The covers I use are the ones from Knights Armament, and yes any rail cover will make a difference. I can take some pics of my setup but don't know how to post them or maybe someone else could host them and post for me? I'm going to get a set of the Oly covers just to have, but if I'm not mistaken their made of rubber? Someone correct if I'm wrong on that. I just thought the Knights being made of aluminum would be stronger. They do add a little extra bulk to the circumference of The Firsh though.

Edited for spell check long day !!!

Does anyone have experience with both the Knight Arm. rail covers and the Oly covers? Pros & Cons???

Oly's are made of rubber.  Pretty stuff stuff, IMHO.  You have to push/work a little to get them on.  The good part is that they are hard to get off, so they are not easily lost.

I've heard that the Knight's panels require modification to lock onto the FIRSH.  Is this so, and just what is involved?

Thanks

Hi, i hope you understand my english...(i am from Finland)
Knight's panels do not need any kind of modifications to fit in FIRSH.
Pics you see in Triplebreak products site are from my AR.
I also would like to thank Mark once more, great service.
I have many pictures of my FIRSH equipped AR, but i am a newbie, and i do not know how to send them.
