I had a leftover 10.5" 7.62x39 barrel that had been drilled for a FSB, so I took one of the take-offs I had, put a taper pin in, and tapped it for a cap screw, and repeated the process on the other side.

I know there has been multiple threads over the years on this but I figured I would ask and see if anything new came along. My question is, has anyone made a low profile adapter or figured out a snag free design for a detachable carry handle? I have hemmed and hawed about putting in a threaded insert on one side that would allow the screws to thread into it and give clamping force. I just don’t know if that would be sufficient or even feasible. |

 Mogadishu Redux. Cut down an Armalite fiberglass tube to carbine length years ago, still haven't gotten around to reattching the end cap. Still on the fence on whether to keep it this way or swap out for a KAC MRE (would just need to cut down the side rails a little since the can won't fit inside). Still undecided on optic. I've run it with ACOG, Aimpoint T1 (on dedicated mount and pic mount), but wasn't happy enough to keep it that way. Might try out an Aimpoint PRO on A.R.M.S. #16 carry handle mount. I have a #22m68 but it's bulky as hell on a carry handle pic rail. |

Another parts bin build. I had a spare barrel, bcg, ch, buffer tube assembly, and gas tube. The star of my spare parts was this Fabian Bros. flash suppressor and it is what got the build kicked off. It's sporting an H&R blem upper and lower.   |

Keep an eye out and they pop up for sale from time to time.
