Final iteration of the A.R.M.S. RIS II submission build. PEQ-15 is fake because I'm not gonna spend $1800 on a real one when I don't have night vision yet, and some parts are modern equivalents just to have it complete and will be replaced with period correct parts when I find them. Parts list:

What light pairs with a m4a1 w/ M203? I own a handful of Arisaka m300/600 variants but I’d like to be more clone correct than that. Not trying to be too autist here but is there some rhyme or reason to m951 vs 952? Other more realistic (cheaper? lol) ideas? Was there a rhyme or reason for different lights paired with different optics? IE acog vs comp m2? Moreso Unit dependent? |

Lights were both issued and acquired. Some units were anal about equipment and the location it was mounted, some weren't. |

Around 2018-2020 you could find 3 or 4 S&B Shortdot PMII 1.1-4s for sale at any given time, scattered across the internet. The prices were certainly fair. Same with NF 2.5-10x24s. M952vs were still pretty cheap. I bought my first used KAC RAS off of ebay for a benny. (I sold a VLTOR CASV M Stepped for it  )I wish I hadn't slept on the 2.5-10x24 or the NT4 QDSS for that matter. Those will really hurt whenever/if ever I decide to pull the trigger.  I was able to find this CompM4 for just under $300 recently. Some good deals pop up on ebay every now and then. |

My little SBR has definitely isnt clone correct but is inspired by some of the GWAT MK18 Mod 0 I always loved. I could try to make it correct but I actually like some of my "wrong" parts better than the correct clone stuff. So it stays as it is. Does the "frankengun" belong here? I like the DD Omega better than my other KAC RIS. Also like the Larue mount better than the Wilcox. Upper is all Colt with a 16" barrel cut down by ADCO. Old school original Colt stock which is so small and light. Fun little gun.

Its been a while but my CompM2 was i think under $300. If nothing else a used Aimpoint Pro should be around that. |

Kind.of wish i had kept it on some kind of fun range gun. A lot of the older "vintage" optics are so hard to justify for me. I really liked the RX30. But for real use something like a PRO is better. The RX30 is fun so i considered putting it on a 22 sbr. But then i have a $400 optic tied up on a $400 gun where a walmart red dot would work. Really i s h ould just accept that there is no point in trying to use logic. Just build what you like for fun. I wish i had kept a bunch of my older optics. But selling stuff off is the only way i can aford newer nicer stuff. |

  Mock up of a spare parts build. AKA the Gordon we have at home. PSA: The pin holes on the surplus Colt barrels from Wetworx don't line up with FSBs. I can't figure out what kind of gas block was used in conjunction with the holes. I plan to swap this barrel into the block II with a low pro gas block and put the socom barrel, where the FSB came from, into this basic build. Also, the collar in the pic is way off center and just a paper weight at this point. I'll need to measure the socom barrel and order the appropriate 7x7 from AE. |
