LOL just how it is. Cant tell you many times I’ve seen things sold and reposted in a few weeks for a significant percentage. Hell Ive definitely sold things and bought the same item months later at a higher price

Guys, this has absolutely nothing to do with money or what the better gas system is.  I don’t care about any of that. These kits were supposed to be “to upgrade your current 15.1″ Recce build to the correct suppressor and barrel setup.” The kits were supposedly intended  for people  who care about having the correct coatings and markings, the history and story behind the guns.  Guys who have spent countless hours in here or on other forums digging through photos and videos for solid source material.  Explaining to my wife what capped and uncapped windage turrets are, the difference between Vero 99167 and 21318, and what 1.25 inches of back spacing means is as much part of the game as buying parts twice is.  This isn’t about this or that, it about wanting to be clone correct and that’s it.

They could have done a list of a certain amount for forum members, like what Bauer did with AAC M42k FDE cans….
It would have given the real cloners a chance…maybe….maybe not.

Like what omega was implying…you’ll probably be able to get the kit in a few weeks for $2k+…….

With a BRT gas tube, an H2 buffer, and a JP centerless ground buffer springI don’t notice any difference with my Lilja vs various midlength setups I have when feeding it MK262. With 55 gr .223 pressure stuff I had multiple FTF malfunctions and really slow bolt speed. Had to drop down to a carbine buffer for training ammo.

I understand the clone factor, but man, it's hard to justify an overpriced 16" carbine gas barrel in 2025.

I have no doubt that those Craddock barrels group well, but my Lilja has also been lights out with MK262. I’ve tried posting pictures every which way I know how but they don’t seem to work

After Covid when demand surged past supply and skateboard/merch slop/techbro/glowmar people came to the tactical hobby. DEFCON, Supdef, Noveske post John, FOG, GBRS, etc plus the dwindling supply of genuine GWOT milsurp for clones. It's a double edged sword cause prices and demand are up but so is scrutiny of brands and technology.

I have been very happy with the M4 Lilja 17".  Yes, it has that huge .80" port at the carbine location.  I simply installed an adjustable gas block and experimented with various ammo and set it to reliably cycle the weakest, which happens to be my match hand loads for 100-200 yard bench.  I then locked it down.  It might be a bit "snappy" for full power 5.56 loads, but the carbine seems not to mind it.

Accuracy is, as expected, benchrest grade.  Those Berger 52gr Flat Base bullets in Lapua cases, benchrest prepped, FGGM primers, a load of 4850 that it prefers, and it is deeply sub MOA.  Actually sub 1/2 MOA when I don't screw it up.

I see Lilja makes a 15.1 version of that barrel for those who are interested.  Yeah, I know these are pricey, but they only make hand lapped air gauged benchrest quality, and it is correct for this build.

Recce kit got delivered to the SOT.  Suppressor is perfect. My gunsmith said the barrel extension is cut well, just sharp so he’s gonna smooth it just a bit.   They did laugh at the syringe of red Loctite included.   Anyway, upper is being put together and suppressor will be put through the system as soon as it’s back up again.    Gonna make the 15.1 a gen 3 look.

So I've been out of the clone game for awhile. I have not really followed the Lilja confirmation and Allen M4 Reece Kit.

I have both a 15.1" Reece and an OG seal Reece with the Lilja barrel and BE Meyers FH.

Does Allen Engineering plan on making and selling just the collar to fit on the Lilja barrel without having to machine a step? Could I easily convert my Lilja?

Yes, the collar doesn't require a step. You basically just put it in the right position and loctite it down. I assume they didn't wanna have to pull the guns apart to retrofit them with the suppressors so they went that route

I contacted them a few weeks ago with this same question - I was told they will offer it separately at some point in the future, but that it will have a black oxide finish, rather than the raw stainless of the "originals" / kit version.

Hope this helps.

For all intents they are much better than the clone barrels. Better barrel maker IMO, better finish, better gas system, better port size along with that...can't really go wrong tbh.

I see lilija is garbage these days. Craddock seems good but $700+ for bartlein blank seems expensive.

I bought the RTR Craddock 15.1" Modern Recce Intermediate gas length barrel with their tapered gas block for right around $500 back in November. That barrel is super accurate and right on par with my 16" Centurion MOD H barrel. Craddock also offers a RTR mid length gas version of that 15.1" barrel, which is slightly cheaper than the one I bought, and Centurion also offers a mid length 15.1" barrel.

While I didn't have my 15.1 long enough to get groups, it seemed very accurate. The biggest issue with Lilja is the extension, which can be polished, and the price given that it's not.

Yeah I'm leaning towards the fluted one from craddock or maybe a 16 Douglas.

I know lilija used to make good kit, but that extension looks like I could do with a Dremel. If I'm dropping that coin on premium kit it better be it in every way. I've debated getting one and trying to put on a bats extension.   I get things happen, but  from what I recall reading on the customer service when the issue was raised it's a non starter for me.
