Remember when the AKs were dirt cheap?
Now it is the AR.  Of course you can pay big bucks for a semi-auto AR type platform.
But prices are low on many.
I own seven black rifles now.  Higher end are a Colt M4A1 and an FNH FN15 DMR.  I don't have anything any more expensive than those.
I decided to build an AR for my Aimpoint PRO.  It needs a home.
Found a complete Anderson lower and a DS Arms upper with Key Mod handguard, floated in M4 profile with 1:7 twist.  Total cost is $425.  Both upper and lower are new.
Not bad for a functional AR.
Just commenting that this stuff can be had for a pretty low cost.

The cost isn't really in the upper and lower, it's in all the extras you add on. Different stocks, sights, rails, QD adapters, slings. trigger upgrades......

I stacked a couple before the election. Since then just been building cheap 16 inch carbines at the price points now. I mean. Why not?
