If you can tell me what font you want, I can easily use it. I no longer have my Mk25 to compare. If you find a font that you like and decide to order one just let me know any modifications that you want in an email and I will make the changes. I often put custom logos on them in place of the data matrix code and such. Basically if it can be engraved I will try to do it...lol. Thank you

I do have a favor to ask for someone that has the square UID tag on a rifle. Could you measure it for me or hold a ruler beside it and take a photo to get the measurement. The supplier needs the measurements to make the blanks. Thank you

Funny thing, I was at a synch meeting a week or two ago, and one of the officers placed his M9 on the table in the conference room when he sat down. I noticed the UID sticker on the bottom of the frame in front of the trigger guard and thought about looking into getting one for my M9C. Then I'm surfing the 'net and I find this thread |

I peeked my head around the corner and asked him if I could help him (we don't allow visiting units to use our facilities as a public restroom since they don't field day our building before they leave). I relented in this case and offered to watch his weapon and fix his sling while he took a shit and he handed me his M4. I fixed the sling and took a pic of the UID sticker on the right side of the lower receiver for future reference. http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo359/Gunny1812/M4%20UID_zpsau3u6lh7.jpg The Colt M4 was almost brand new, and was equipped with a Matech BUIS only (no optics) and RAS. The last I had heard is that they were in production (which take 7-10 business days). I am expecting them at the beginning of next week. If I have not received tracking information by Monday or Tuesday I'm gonna call them back.

No, not yet. I was going to wait until the blanks arrived. That way I can show the actual tag itself. The day the blanks arrive I will have the link up.

Thank you guys. I really appriciate the support I have received from the various firearms communities. It means a lot. Especially being a gun guy myself, it is nice to have the support I have gotten. I have sent tags to the United Kingdon, Canada, and all across the US. It is humbling.

Here's a small square sticker on a CQBR Block I upper at work. Not sure what its purpose is. First one I've come across. Most of these uppers just have the 4-digit CQBR barrel number copied with marker onto the upper. Many have RFID circular tags. According to my Manatee Barcode Scanner it reads: [)>12CAG 00074SER SWLSAW-A022539 |

Possibly!
I don't recognize any of those fields in the barcode (not that I have much experience with UIDs). Google didn't come up with anything either. That serial number looks like it belongs to a Surefire light. Maybe the sticker came from a light. Who knows? |
|
|
Wait, here's a clue: http://www.acq.osd.mil/dpap/UID/attachments/Tips%20on%20Constructing%20the%20UII.pdf
00074 is the CAGE code for BRACE TOOL AND MACHINE SHOP so that sticker probably came from some type of industrial saw (SWLSAW) with a serial of A022539. This is a CAGE lookup tool: https://cage.dla.mil/search Your hometown probably has a CAGE (mine does). They're used for federal grants. |

@Charliedeltajuliet How difficult would it be to alter your data matrix? MIL-STD-130N specifies elements of the data matrix. The information is always one line, separated by data identifiers (17V, 1P, S). They all start with [)> and 06 is the format indicator (data). Looks like 12 is another common format (text), which includes spaces, but the syntax is very specific. If the numbers specified are CAGE 13629, part # 12972700, serial # LE123456, it should appear as: [)>0617V136291P12972700SLE123456 Here's a format 12 (using obsolete format indicator DD) example on a SIG: [)>DDMFR 1EF82PNO MK25SEQ UU697102 Yeah, I was pretty bored today. |

It'd probably be a good idea to incorporate the part numbers for commonly requested guns on your site. For example list the part numbers for: M4 M4A1 M16A4 The clone weenies can put together a list of the more uber-leet clones too. Maybe common CAGE codes too. Just sayin'. |

To answer the first question, it wouldn't be hard to modify the data matrix string at all. I would be more than happy to do it.
The second question. Yeah, I really think I will do that this week. Thank you for the idea. |

Anyone know CAGE number for Daniel Defense (CQBR) or Spikes? (I know I know lol). My Mk18-ish build is on a Spikes lower and DD upper :p
