So, what rules are there about the alteration of a shockwave stabalizer on an AR pistol?
I am thinking about cutting the bottom trapazoid shape out of my shockwave stabilizer and wanted to know if that would be frowned upon. Personally I think it would look at lot better with that small piece not being there but want to know what I'd be possibly getting myself into. |

Remember this........
The ATF Determination Letter on the legality of the Shockwave Brace was issued based on the sample provided. If you alter or modify your Shockwave Brace you don't have that ATF Determination Letter to rely on. Doing modifications after ATF issued a DL is what got the Akins Accelerator in hot water I believe. |

What the hell is going on here with all of the questions about pistol braces as of late, the product was approved as submitted, which means alterations could be determined to be an illegal product.
Knock this crap off, if you want to do something, do it and be quiet!

OP, a question and speculation. Are you wanting to retain the adjustability of the Shockwave without the flat stabilizing portion you want to cut off?...just trying to retain the option of more length? If so, I can understand the logic of the question. I've only used the Shockwave and like the flat, stabilizing "fin", but this can be very preferential. Your question got me to thinking...are there any pistol tubes that provide length adjustment? I can see different body sizes and techniques wanting that option in some cases.
Again, only used the Shockwave and like the shape and adjustability...YMMV |
