Hello all, i have a colt csr1516. And yes i know some of the parts are not colt but the barrel is marked colt hbar 1/8. It is
Not chrome lined. According to bold ideas who put it together it is supposed to be pretty accurate. Does anyone have the same rifle and what factory ammo is yours most accurate with? |

I have the colt HBAR with the chome lining in 16" and 20", they may be two different to help you out but with the 20" I can tell you that the lighter a load for the gun the more accurate it is. I made rounds as light as I could and still have it eject them and found them to be unbelievably more accurate then any factory rounds.I can give to the recipe if you interested, I will look it up. As for the 16 " it was about the same but not as dramatic. The 20" went from 2 3/4" at 200 yards with a Trijicon Acog on a bench to 1 1/4" with cool down time between shots. Loading your own rounds is the only way to get the most accuracy out of your baby.
P.S. If I remember right I think PMC was the most accurate factory rounds before I started loading my own. |
| Thanks for the reply, i doubt i will ever get into the reloading. Mine is a 16 inch with a double chamber brake. Wondered if anyone had tried to use any of the match or varmit ammo in 223. Thinkin about getting a decent optic and toying around with it. Great thing is i won the thing, i have $12 in it. |

This factory ammo is almost the same as my match load from POI to accuracy, and reasonably priced. Yes, 55 gr bullets are fine with 1:8.
ADI 55 gr Sierra Blitzking Their 69 gr. load is just a good if you can find it in stock elsewhere. |

I have a Colt 20" Match HBar with a 1/7 chrome lined.
Did a little range time last weekend with a varied selection of factory loads. The 77 grn loads grouped the best, performance in descending order.
