Just finished a simple AR build. Here are the specs:
Anderson lower
PSA PSA 16" Carbine Length 5.56 1:7 M4 Nitride Upper
PSA Enhanced Lower Build Kit
PSA Premium BCG

Sighting in the rifle. 25 yards, bench rest, used regular ol' American Eagle 5.56, indoor range, rear carry sight and FSB front sight:

Not bad for a $500 build. My initial goal was a simple M4gery. But after shooting it I will be changing the trigger (not bad as far as GI triggers go but still a GI trigger) and buttstock.

Not being a jerk but 25 yards, bench rest?  Doesn't seem good.

Edit. I was looking at it wrong. I didn't see it was only 1 inch. My bad.

4 MOA with ball ammo and iron sights? Looks ok to me.

No worries. It ain't 100 yards. I suspect it'll shoot 3-4 inch groups at that range. But 100 yards with iron sights ain't happening with these eyes and I don't plan on putting a scope on this rifle.

Tell me about it. I loved red dots but my eyes went to shit over night it seems and now it's scopes and magnifiers for me.  Thinking about laser eye surgery.

Got a TRS25 coming today for my AK. For this rifle I'm probably going with something from Primary Arms on a riser.

I built a rifle almost identical to yours.  About the only difference is I used a cheaper PTAC upper (yeah, I know).  It performed better than my expectations so eventually I changed the rail, grip, and butt stock.  It still wears the A2 sights front and rear.  It's a real joy to plink with.  It's the one AR in my collection that I treat like a red-headed stepson, you know, mag dumps and rough handling.  Before the furniture changes, I had about $430 invested in mine.  Heck, I spent half as much on the BCM carry handle/sight as I did on the whole upper.

+2....almost identical build here. Shoots about the same, cheap PTAC upper. Built it for my nephew, he lost interest so now it's my beater. I do like it alot though. Eats any ammo, I'm not nice to it, and it's fun just to blast with.

Good to be in great company.
I had to stop looking at the PSA emails. Too damn dangerous for my pockets.

I had a PA advanced dot. It was nice but my astigmatism is so bad it was no bueno. I sold it and got a Holosun 503c with the circle dot reticle. I love it. It's crisp. Way crisper than my PA or T1. I really recommend it over a single dot. And it's not too much more considering. $219 vs $159 I think. I guess it's a bit more but worth it IMO.

The holosuns seem to have a good reputation.  But it's weird how some reticles are crisper than others.  Still, an oblong dot doesn't necessarily make it harder to shoot tighter groups.  You just have to keep putting it in the same spot on the target.

Nice build OP.  I dig it.  I'm not crazy about those type of handguards.  The ribs spaced closer together looks weird to me.  But that's it not a big deal.  It's a cool build.  Is it govt profile under the handgaurds?  Some day I want to try one.  My M4gery is an Hbar under the handguards and I sometimes wish it was lighter.  But then again.... it's a good shooting barrel.
