Have a few ARs. An SSA in a home build, MBT in another home build and a Stag Model 1 with a stock Stag trigger. Your all going to destroy me now, but I like all 3 triggers, the Stag trigger holds its own with the other 2. Just my opinion and I know what they say about oppinions, but I may put a Stag trigger in my next build and save a few bucks.

The thing about stock triggers is that you cannot really predict which one you're going to get. I've had a few standard triggers that were decent and more than a few that were terrible. With most aftermarket triggers, you get pretty consistent performance.. Just my experience though.

Stag are pretty consistent and I agree with the OP. Probably one if the best mil spec triggers.

I've shot a lot of mil-spec triggers from a myriad of different companies, and can say that I have yet to try one that isn't abysmal.  Once you go 2-stage, you never go back...

Mine too. I've got a stock trigger from an RRA LPK that's been doing just fine for close to 13 years.

Another LPK gave me the crappiest trigger I've ever shot.  Ever.  100 rounds and I pulled the trigger and hammer out and threw them away--the mating surfaces were both chipped and had uneven wear, and it wasn't previous damage, those things were spotless when I put them in.  Pulling that trigger felt like nine miles of bad road--mushy, jerky, and rough.

In my experience, the first case is the exception.  Most triggers are...adequate, until the first time you use an aftermarket.

Milspec triggers are all over the board. My DD single stage were some of the worst imaginable. Sounds like there are others that are acceptable.

I lucked out and got a sweet LMT factory trigger that I used in my first AR. Then I swapped it out with a Geissele SSA and never looked back. All of my rifles, save for my pistol, are running Geisseles. The pistol was a beater project, so it got stuck with the PSA trigger that came in the LPK. If Stag really is consistent, I may look at picking up one of theirs for the pistol.
