I noticed my feed ramps were not in perfect alignment on a new rifle. Have not shot it yet.  Doesn't look as bad as some I've seen. Shoot it or send back?

Just did a little more research on M4 feed ramp alignment. Mine are not perfect, but well within specs.

It might function just fine, but I wouldn't be happy with this rifle at all. What else did they screw up? Who ever built this rifle paid zero attention to detail. Depending on what they used as reference for aligning the gas block, the gas tube/gas key engagement could be screwed up as well, which will cause premature gas tube wear and the gas pressure drops/malfunctions.

Not optimal, but will most  likely run just fine. Wont see it when shooting.

Looks like the barrel extension was tightened down a bit to much, but it is not hard to fix with a small needle file.  If you can't or don't want to do that, then I would send this picture to the company you purchased from to see what they have to say.

Loosen barrel nut, turn barrel clockwise until its resting on the other side of the index pin notch. It won't move far. Less than a 1/32" hopefully . But it will help.

If there is absolutely no wiggle room at all in the index notch. Live with it, or send it back.

Why don't you shoot it and see if it feeds and functions? I doubt you'll have a problem, but if you do return it.

Who's upper and who's barrel? A complete rifle or just the upper was purchased?
