Can anyone help me identify the manufacture of this hammer? It has a ridge around it instead of being flat and solid on the sides.
I got it out of my parts drawer for the lower that I just built. And I don't remember where or when I got it.

^Maybe a stupid question... but is the hammer made of metal?

It looks almost plastic in the pics...

It is metal and It's actually black in color. I don't know why it looks like a different color in the photo. Reflection or shadow or something.

I'm just trying to figure out who made hammers with a lip around the edge?

Definitely looks like a metallic area where the disconnect catches.
Interested in the final answer.

It looks cast, yes?

Here's pictures of the complete hammer. The white spot is some sort of manufacturers paint. And the bluish color on the face is cold blue touch up.

I have a hammer that looks just like this one. Unfortunately, I have no clue when or where I acquired it. I do have a question, though. Why are you touching-up the face of your hammer?

I was building an all new lower, and I thought that the FCG was supposed to be new when and wherever I bought it. (on the arfcom EE I think). It showed very little wear that I thought I could touch up.

Before I finish it into a complete rifle. It looked better before the cold blue butcher job. I wanted the rifle to be new. But now, not knowing the manufacture and quality of the FCG. I might just buy

another FCG.

I have one that came from a sport.
The above gentlemen are correct. S&W M&P. Probably a few years old.

Thanks everyone. I've used Brake Clean and Steel Wool and managed to get most of the Cold Blue removed from the face.

I believe that I'll go ahead and use it.
