Congrats!
I also have almost the same except mine's the CE1000 I picked up last March, they're a good shooter and no problems at all with mine. I just want to ask about your factory installed forward assist, does the plunger itself (the part that moves) have a roll pin (not the roll pin in the upper receiver)? I'm asking because there are two types of forward assist plungers, the mil-spec Colt type plungers uses a roll pin while the commercial type doesn't have a roll pin. Your new model also have a two piece mag catch, my older model came with a one piece mag catch (doesn't have that round piece at the rear end of the mag catch) which is the same as AR from Colt Competition Rifles made in TX. My last question is about your included magazine, did you open the sealed factory box or was it already opened? I opened my factory sealed CE1000 Expanse box at the gun shop when I picked it up and it had one factory Colt marked aluminum 30 rd mag. |

Yeah, what's with the barrel profile? Quoted:

Somebody forgot to M4 cut your M4 carbine. Yeah, what's with the barrel profile? No clue, It's thicker under the handguard than my other (Milspec/government) barrels. My guess, this gun being made to compete with S&W Sport II, Ruger AR556, Colt used the same type of profile they use. I've sold a lot of sport II's and AR556's to old guys who were going to use it on their property (coyotes and what not). Those guys wouldn't look at anything with an M4 profile barrel. I'm kind of a government profile type guy. |

Smoking deal! Quoted:

I bought one and haven't shot it yet; $606.69 OTD at my local BX, (they threw in a PMAG for free). Did put a FA and dust cover on it. Smoking deal! It was supposed to be $749 but they had a 10% off Modern Sporting Rifle sale, and another 10% off for using the Military Star charge card. Of course, no sales tax. Also mine came with a Colt mag sealed in the bag with the owners manual and cable lock. |
