This is the first promo email I have seen from them targeting PSA business model. I've spent thousands of dollars this year building AR15s and brownells never really crossed my mind as an option. Quite a bit of that money went to PSA. The only thing I've gotten from brownells was Glock mags.

Now if they could do something about thier $15 shipping, I might be willing to order more from them.

I've gotten quite a few AR tools and parts from them the past few months.  They offer a military discount also, anything helps.

I've bought two rifles from them so far this year.

The BCM OEM is an excellent deal.

Brownells has formerly not been very interested in aggressive price reduction.  This is interesting.

They have, however, been my "go to" for tools, gunsmithing supplies and small parts that are hard to find elsewhere.  There "how to" videos are very useful.  There support of 2A also makes me want to do business with them unless someone else really seriously beats their pricing.

I paged through their latest catalog that I received a few weeks ago, #69 I think .

The first 90-100 pages were loaded with nothing but AR parts and accessories. This didn't used to be the case but they have had at least SOME AR stuff since I got into them in 1999.

I think you hit the nail on the head right there. I only though of Brownells as a place for gunsmithing, small parts and a limited amount of accessories. I never considered them for any of my AR-15 builds.

For the most part their shipping charges would make me look else where unless I was getting a great deal. But now that I know there more into the AR business I might get the EDGE membership to get free shipping.

Yeah, not usually my first choice for ar stuff, but it's an option. They have a decent selection EXCEPT when it comes to lightweight parts. Their selection of Ti, carbon fiber, and polymer AR upgrades for the ultralight crowd is pretty anemic. Niche market I know, but then again Brownells has tons of niche stuff in other categories.

Seem to be a decent source for the Colt SOCOM barrel, but I cant bring myself to pay that much for one.

I think the OP was more pointing out that they are selling Brownells branded uppers/barrels etc like Palmetto State has been doing.  They've sold AR parts  forever, I think it is the branding aspect.  Also the prices on complete uppers seem (on cursory look) to be competitive with PSA, which has been known for discount prices.

I know they've sold Brownell's brand magazines, but I was never aware they had their own uppers/barrels etc.

Brownells has been pushing more AR15 promotions in the last couple weeks.

I'm not sure they are beating prices of some of the more popular AR15 suppliers here.

I think this election cycle has much to do with them trying to sell more AR15 product and profit!

Same goes for everybody...

I built a rifle last year starting in February.  It was wait a month for anything and there was a sale coming around, built one this year starting in May... I don't think I caught a single sale I was just happy if I found it in stock.

I always try Brownell's, I think it is neat to have such a cool place in Iowa.

They don't have a ton of AR stuff though, I think I just got the flash hider, crush washer and maybe one other thing from them for my last build... and the headspace gauges.

They had barrels listed last year, I was wanting their 1:7 A2 style barrel but I waited two months and they never came back into stock.

+1 on the branding.  They could've picked a better name than B-Tac though.

I've been pretty faithful to Brownells. There tool offerings have always been superb. Normally there customer service is spot on with no hassle return policy. I've had the LEO discount for over 10 years so I try them first for small parts and tools.

Get a C&R dealers account and then Upgrade to Edge.  You can use coupons, your dealer pricing and get free shipping.  It's phenomenal.

I buy everything from them.

In the 2+ years of building I always check Brownells and their coupons as a price barometer.  Most times there are better deals, but I've surely spent thousands with them at this point.
