Howdy.
My newest 10.5" noveske arrived Thursday. Practiced a couple fully loaded magazines and it is very hard to seat the mags. The magwell doesn't appear to be tight-when I lock the bolt back they slide and click in fine. With the upper on its much harder. Gen 1 low pro 5.56. My other noveske is a base 10.5" and it gobbles up everything without any issues. Gen2 pmags-75% of them work, still require a lot of force up seat Gen3-10% work, require much force Usgi-require much force to seat Help? |

No, I'd like to fix it in my hands first. Normally people would say that's 'admirable' but honestly I think it's stupid with a factory-new, out of the box, high-priced, precision-made machine. Odds are you'll manage to void the warranty while ignoring Noveske's DUTY and DESIRE (assumption) to make it right. (if there really is an issue at all) That said, lots of guns seat mags really tightly. That said, it really does sound bad in the Lancers won't work. But fully loaded actual mil spec mags (30 rounds) will be hard to seat. Even mags loaded to 28 rounds will still require a slap. How about loading to 28rd mags like most in the industry do? It actually does work much slicker. |

Not uncommon on a new gun, but if you're buying SBR Noveskes you likely already know that. Try loading 28 in a magazine or some older GI mags. Are the mags new? Do empty mags seat easily with the bolt forward? That's what it sounds like to me. Sounds like the gun is not easily compressing the mag spring. That's why I load 27-28 rounds per mag. |

Even in gen2 pmags that have been loaded with 28rds for months it's still very hard to insert and lock a mag. |

I tried, no luck. It looked bent but when off it clicked mags in fine Quoted:

Try adjusting the magazine release one revolution, see if that helps. I tried, no luck. It looked bent but when off it clicked mags in fine Looked bent? Can you shoot a pic please? Thanks! |

I took it back to dsg today and they replaced the bcg with a new noveske one. Apparently noveske released a bunch of them that were slightly over spec.
Fit better at the store but same problem when I came back Home and tried it. I'll get that pic here in a minute |

It fit slightly better. The problem still exists in my magazines at my House. I have one more person to take this to then it's off to noveske. Ticked...my other rifle is a sweet shooter. Perfect in every way. |

For what it is worth I have a Noveske in 6.8 that hates PRI Mags. Not a single PRI mag I own will come out of the mag well without a firm grip and good pull. I care not ! The gun functions flawlessly. I am not at war.
My other Noveske, gen 2, 8.2" 300blkout. Will not free drop a pmag empty but it only takes a slight pull to break free and if the mag is compleatly full it does not want to seat with the bolt closed. Again. I care not. I can either slam the mag in or just load one less round and it works fine. |

How does an empty mag seat into the rifle? Have you tried a mag downloaded to 28 rounds? |
|
I had a S&W M&P15 with trouble getting some mags to lock with the upper on. It was due to the magwell not being machined right. It was off in lateral dimensions, skewed to one side or another, causing mag lips to hit the upper where it shouldn't. I was given a new gun.
Your issue might be a combination of bad mag catch location and skewed magwell. Or skewed magwell and bad mag catch. |

I spoke with noveske today and they said to just use mags loaded to 25rds or lancer mags only..lancers are 100%. |

I looked at it again and little bit later and it looks fine now, I'm getting old. I'll create a YouTube video and share it here. |
