This would be my first left handed AR15 upper. My question is if I have ejection on the left side of my upper, do I need a specific bolt or carrier for left handed ejection or will a mil-spec regular bolt/carrier eject that way automatically?

I have never looked into left-handed uppers, but am confident that a standard bolt would cause consistent ejection problems. Is there a specific reason for not sticking to a standard rifle? Reason being that you could stay with readily available and common parts.

You can use a right hand carrier if you counter bore the opposite side of the firing pin retaining pin hole so the pin can be installed from the other side.  If you don't, the retaining pin can walk out through the ejection port.
