Your best bet would be a flip front sight gas block, with a Rubber City armory adjustable gas key.

Then you have an adjustable carrier to swap into other builds.

Ive seen that, but im trying to stay specific. Im downsizing and have been shooting .30 for 7 years. First time back into ar's and im looking to make it mine.

Low Adjustable gas block because im used to adjustable gas systems
Maybe a keymod rail if a low pro block is the only adjustable option
Good stock, light weight
Light weight flip assist irons

Thats about it for now, maybe an eotech later or sparc

Im starting with a m4a3 bushy since a local retailer had a $729 deal with 1k rnds..........pretty much everything i have 7.62 nato is going bye bye with life changes.

How reliable is the key? Its cheap but adjustment definantly more tedious

Easy to remove and adjust. Much easier than the 4 I built with gas block adjusters.
The ones under a rail are a PITA

SLR's adjust on the front and they sell several different length ball allen drivers. How does it get any easier when you don't have to remove anything? Limit the gas at the gas block and you reduce the amount of dirty gas flowing in to the upper receiver.

Have a 3/4" open end wrench?

.750 is standard for M4/A2 profiles, .625 for pencil profiles.

Don't cover it up with a long hand guard. I'd still go for the.SLR gas blocks. They are expensive but nice.

Here are the .750 ones.

I'm running the Syrac Gen II Adjustable Low Pro Gas Block and really like the click-stop adjustments.  Since the set screw faces forward, no need to remove anything to make adjustments.

Im really liking my SLR gas block so far. Got it tucked under a SLR ultra light rail.
