Someone has offered me a DDM4 V1 for $1,000. I own a DDMV5 LW which I LOVE!

I see the gas system is front sight based so I guess there is not a simple option to replace that sight setup. You'd have to get a new gas system and a new rail ($$). Should Ij just get this for a good backup, possibly mount an offset red dot or low magnification scope if needed?

Pros and Cons?

If its a standard fsb, you could just shave it down to a low pro so it will be an easy set up to work with and you can still retain the sturdiness of the pinned style fsb.

+1. Pinned FSB is the best option there is for reliability/dependability.

I too hate the fsb, but some people like/don't mind them. I would still get it at that price and just change it.
