Newbie here on the forum and I need some info. and advice. I have a PWS MK-114 and was looking to buy a classic full size AR. I had settled on the new Colt A4 but I had the owner of one LGS offer up  his AR to me. He is not a big AR guy and bought it about 3 years ago. He never shot it and it looks like it has not been shot or maybe once or twice? Anyway, neither one of us could find an actual model number. He kept saying it was a heavy barrel but I see no HBAR markings. Here are the pics., tell me what you can about this rifle please. Approx. age, pros, cons vs the A4, bolt difference? I know the A4 has a removable carry handle and this one is fixed. Not a deal breaker if this is a better gun for some reason. I think he is too high on it, he wants $1100 cash. I can get the A4 for $1200 out door and only checked one other shop so far. I probably did not measure the barrel right but we put a tape outside the chamber and went to the end of barrel (not counting flash hider) and was approx. 18". Let me know what you think? Not ure what the CST stands for in the serial # either?

I'd go with the A4 for a $100 more.

Get the A4 for $869 here.

The A2 will limit your optic mounting options, and I don't see a need for a heavy barrel unless you are doing mag dump after mag dump.

The Colt Match Target is a HBAR. I would recommend going with the A4 as well. That said, if you are wanting something to compete in matches with, then the Colt Match Target is the one to have.

I paid $800 for that exact model very lightly used 5 years ago. I wouldn't pay more than that, and it's one of my favorite AR15's. I paid $850 plus shipping for my Colt AR15A4.

The match target target model is an A2 profile barrel.

If it's a ban era model, it has features that devalue it significantly.

I think I will go with a new A4, where did you find it for $850? I am wanting the black classic military clone model.

I'd also go with the A4 and I own a pre ban 6600 HBAR.
