Has anyone checked out or bought a new Rebel Arms Lightning or RBR Mod 2 Rifle? On paper they look pretty solid. A little
pricey maybe especially with the Elite Package upgrade. Any thoughts? |
| Had to do a google search for SHILL. Interesting, but I am just trying to figure out my next AR. The LGS here seems to be big on Rebel and am just trying to make an informed purchase. My first AR is a Stag Model 1 and although satisfied with it for the most part I wish I did more research before I bought. Thanks... |

Rebel Arms is (eta: probably) overpriced(and with no reputation), get something else. GENERALLY SPEAKING: What happens is these boutique sellers usually just buy the cheapest shit they can and make it look like a standard AR with a paint job or something, then mark it up 1.5-3k over what you could buy the parts for yourself. They often use cheap, non-standard materials which aren't treated properly, as well. They know anybody who would buy these guns is probably not a gun guy and won't shoot it much anyway. Any company that sells a reasonably priced AR is probably actually BETTER(yes even ptac) because they use milspec materials and parts. In other words, the cheapest piece of crap you could put together would be better, because they don't even sell the level of cheap crap most of these guys use, to the consumer market. ETA: One last thing. I know absolutely nothing about Rebel Arms, except what they charge for an AR15. Maybe they are awesome, who knows. |

Thanks for the insight. Very true I guess. They could be cerakoteing UTG leapers crap for all we know. So more then likely a 1k Stag is likely better then a 2k unknown? I can put together a 600-800 dollar ar for 2k if you want. You are correct. If you were planning on dropping that kind of coin on an ar, get a kac/bcm/dd Hell, get a spikes, psa, or stag Or even a ruger, ptac, dpms, or bushmaster Because at least you know what you're getting, and not getting ripped off for it |
