I just bought a Colt FCG and I am a little confused. I thought all Colt parts have a "C" stamped on  them. The disconnector has a "S" and  "C" stamped on it. The hammer and trigger both have "S" in a square and "2" in a circle that appear to be imprinted during casting, but no "C" stamp. I did so hunting online and the ones on Brownell's appear to have the identical markings. Did Colt stop stamping their parts? Are they now using other company's parts and calling them Colt?

Thanks for the help. Just trying to learn a little.

The S stamp is fairly common, in not sure if these are contract parts or forge markings.

Sounds legit, here's mine from my Colt LE6920.

Dissconnector has a "C" and "S", trigger has two "S" marks and a "2".

Note, this shows my FCG with JP Yellow springs:

That's just like mine minus the yellow springs.

So did Colt just stop stamping their small parts? My A1 has a "C" stamped on all the FCG parts.

I can't answer that, as I have no clue. I never knew they stamped all of their small parts, just the carriers would have a "C", bolts would have a "MPC", upper receiver would have a "C", and the barrels have "C MP".

Colt outsources components made to their specs from other manufacturers when their capacity is exceeded or when it makes financial sense. The parts in question were made by L.W. Schneider, a major components manufacturer who supplies Colt, DD, ALG, PSA and others, as well as having contracts with the DoD to provide replacement weapon parts.

Thanks guys.. That answers my questions. Maybe I am just missed informed that all their small parts are stamped with a "C".

The FCG of my 6920 that I bought new in 2013 (I cut the paper tape on the cardboard box myself) has the same markings as Muad's, albeit with different numbers.  It's also one of the nicest "standard" triggers that I've ever felt.
Sounds legit, OP.

While the above poster is correct about Colt purchasing FCG parts from an established outside vender, your FCG parts are Factory Colt items.  However they were sourced from Schmid Tool and Engineering in Illinois..  Their casting-mark is the stylized "S" on the trigger and hammer.  Good luck.
