I'd like to play with a 24" varmint version (223) of one of the two. Any advice on either or?

I think you'll find both will serve you well and be very accurate. I'd pick whichever one had the features I wanted, at the best price.

I have a 22" DMPS I built and a 16" RRA home built.
They both work equally well, I can throw any ammo at them and they are both accurate.
The more expensive ammo is far more accurate though.

RRA I believe gets the edge on barrel quality.  RRA uses Wilson barrels and they have a reputation for being good barrels I have two myself.

I'd go with the RRA. I own a few and have had to issues with any of them.

Have and love both companies.  I would edge the parts quality to RRA, if not slightly.

For 24" barrels, it looks like RRA has 1:8 twist versus DPMS's 1:9, so I'd choose RRA for the greater flexibility in bullet lengths . However, I've never had trouble getting a (20") S/S DPMS barrel to shoot good, whereas the RRA seems a little picky.

The RRA would be my choice. Very accurate with great fit, finish, triggers and barrels.

I have shot, but not owned a DPMS, they shoot fine. I own two RRA and I really like them...I have a few other ARs as well that I really like too.

I have two complete dpms guns- lr308 and sass,
Both have been great guns.  I have a gun build on a RR lower
And use a lot of RR carriers , lower kits and barrels for
My retro projects.  I'd buy a gun from either company

The barrels are made by Wilson Arms ...not Wilson Combat to clarify.  Wilson Arms however does make blanks for Wilson combat.  I have a 18" SS bull that shoots MOA.

RRA every time, I would not own anything DPMS other than stripped recievers to build from. I have seen way too many substandard parts and failures with DPMS to have any faith in them. I have read their newer offerings have come a long way.

Thanks guys. I'm gona go with the RRA for the tighter twist.
