| Any opinions or experience with Rebel Arms? |
| I've never heard of them. Not trying to be negative, but in the AR realm, VERY rarely is it ever worth it to venture outside the proven quality manufacturers and spend too much money on boutique junk. I'm not saying RA is junk, I'm just saying good "no-name" is rare. |
| A couple years ago during the panic, I bought one of their uppers. It was a basic upper with a 16" carbine gas barrel and standard handguards. The bcg was not chrome lined and neither was the barrel. This was my first ar15 so i had my buddy check it out. He said it was pretty decent considering the market. I pinned it to a lower with an A2 stock and headed to the range. Once I sighted the aimpoint in it held accuracy very very well. I did not have a single problem with the upper. It ate anything I fed it, including wolf and Tula. I have since changed a few things, my bcg is now a bcm, the 16" carbine barrel is in the attic and replaced with a 16" spikes mid length. Of coarse I now have a free float rail but I did keep and currently use the stripped upper and continue to love it. I often think I would like a bcm or noveske upper, because of the name, but have a hard time justifying the expense when there is nothing wrong with mine. Oh and their company is located in Pa. A few hours north of me. This was also a plus when I bought it, knowing that it was made local. I don't know how they are priced now, but if you like it and you feel it's a good price, go for it. |
| They are selling at a lgs between 1300 and 1500. They actually look and feel pretty impressive. Cosmetically flawless. All are cerakoted various tactical colors. They seem to be using high end components. Nitrided barrels and bcg. Looks can sometimes be deceiving so just wanted a few opinions before I buy. I am still leaning in the direction of a spikes a colt if in stock. Thanks. |

That price is just . The panic is over (rifle wise) and the market is flooded with quality firearms at great prices. Personally I'd assemble my own using a BCM (free bcg) upper and a PSA complete blem lower for around $700.Yep. +2 This is a great option. |

I bought one of the Rebel Arms Lightnings about a year ago. The gun shoots extremely well. They used all Mission First Tactical accessories which I find are a nicer feel then the Magpul but that is opinion. If came with a nitrided barrel and a Nickle Boron Trigger group and BCG. The trigger feels nice for a stock trigger. The upper and lower receivers don't have any flaws in them and fit tightly together. The rail system I think is their own, I haven't seen one like it before. I paid $1200 at the time. I also have a few other ARs and would say its the lightest and best quality
If you are looking to pick one up I would wait. I keep seeing that they are going to have a new gun out their MOD2. They have a nicer key-mod rail and some other upgrades. I would guess that the older versions will drop in price. Also they are doing a pistol with the sig brace. |
| I don't think the photos on their website do justice to Rebel's products. They were a sponsor of the New Holland 2 Gun series in Pa, and gave away one of their rifles. I looked at their prize gun at every one of the matches, and found it to be very nice. Their representatives also shot this match series, and were mentioning a three gun rifle for next year, so it would appear they are very involved in competition shooting, which is certainly appreciated by those involved in the sport. |

Sounds pretty nice actually... all except the non chrome lined BCG. The bolt and barrel chamber are parts I wouldn't skimp on NOT chrome lining. Just saw in a post above by another member the bolt & chamber is Nitride lined. That is fine. But a $1300-1500 is not worth it when you could build something awesome right now for $1000-1200, or buy a Spikes or a Colt base rifle for $800 and then upgrade the hell out of it for another $250-$350... |
