Well, since you've been lurking for "some time", you know you must answer a few questions, then be ridiculed by GD. But since you didn't post there, we cannot do that. Since this is the case, Welcome! How did your new evil black rifle preform? Is it your first? Now get your post and pic to GD for a proper welcome! Or save yourself some agony and don't.

I'm sorry, but what's GD? Told ya I was a newbie!LOL! I'm not use to this forum layout, it's kinda hard to navigate when I'm use to v-bulletin style of the diesel forums. Thanks for the welcome! I really like the rifle so far. Yes, it's my first AR, but have many hunting rifles/shotguns and handguns. I thought I paid a good price for this specific model/make. The cheapest I found this model was cheaperthandirt.com for $915 before the fees. |

Congratulations on your first purchase. Warning: It's addictive! IM (instant message) me should you need a thing.... Thank you!! I've been slowly getting a list of common spare parts to have on hand. Also, researching what optic would work best for my needs and budget gets a little overwhelming!LOL! I already made some nylon and delrin punch, this weekend I'll machine down a nylon block for the mag vise clamp. |

Nice rifle. Now toss an Aimpoint, or a Eo-Tech on it, and learn to build another one yourself. I'm not much of a red dot fan. I've been looking at 4x style optics, my eyes aren't as young as they use to be. After owning this DPMS and seeing how easy the internal are, I feel confident on a build. I have most of the basic tools needed, I'll have to take time and start researching other members builds and opinions to see what I'd like to end up with. Looks like this might be another expensive hobby!LOL! |

'Oh I've had that laying around for years is a common expression with the wife

Don't tell me you haven't visited Arfcom's wretched hive of scum and villainy, otherwise known as General Discussion. If not, don't say you weren't forewarned. Otherwise, welcome aboard. |

I'm surprised that no one has called you to the carpet for not putting your shoes in the photo while taking the photo standing over the rifle. But maybe they are being gentle because you did use s sharpie to hold the rifle up and you have ammo in the background.
Is that box of tissues for when you're reading Lover Revealed? IN all seriousness, lots of good stuff out there for the newcomers, those well seasoned, and everyone in between. If you need to find something use Google and then used the advanced search features to search ar15.com. The search engine on most forums can be difficult to sift through the chaff. R/Matel |

Welcome!! It seems since you have a background in machinery work, you have a leg up on a lot of us. Nice rifle and may I suggest a primary arms scope for quality on a budget. Thanks for the welcome, yes by trade I'm a machinist/tool die (more on that later). I'll check out Primary Arms. |

Ahh, General Discussion. I checked it out, too much like Facebook with personal opinion and drama, no thanks. |

Welcome! Enjoy your rifle! What convinced you to go with the DPMS? Lots of other options out there in this buyer's market. Thanks for the welcome. I bought the DPMS because of the price, all said and done it was $800 with the furniture that I liked already on it. I'm happy with it. |

R/Matel Took the pic in the kitchen, only because my garage is too far from the house to take a pic on the work bench. Good eye on the book, I'm surprised you knew the title!LOL! Ok, enough of the GD. I plan on making a suppressor for the DPMS, after I fill out the forms and wait for their approval 10 months later. This is where being a machinist/tool die comes in handy, a suppressor will only cost me material. From my understanding, a adjustable gas block might be needed. |

It was an excellent AR but didn't have time to shoot it then. This time I did the same thing as you. I bought my DPMS a couple of years ago. To make a long story short, if I buy another AR it will be a DPMS. Flawless fit, finish and performance. Enjoy! |
