I recently purchased one of the Geissele SSF triggers to put in a Colt LE 6920 that Brandon / Jeep 297 helped me buy a few years back. If you are not familiar with Brandon's story, I encourage you to please check out this thread. I have to give a quick shout out to Geissele Automatics, they are an unbelievably awesome company for donating the proceeds from these triggers to Brandon's wife.. thank you guys! I believe there are more triggers left so if you are interested call them up and ask to speak to Jessa.
Anyway, the trigger showed up this week and to be honest... I don't know what to do with it. I'm pretty comfortable disassembling my rifle for cleaning / care, but have never taken apart the trigger assembly. It is a $230 trigger and a $900 rifle so I'd hate to screw something up. Here is my question to the community here... should I: 1) Man up and take out the trigger on my 6920 by following some youtube videos (or any instructions you guys can give me) then install the Geissele SSF trigger myself. 2) Smarten up and take the trigger and the rifle to a local gunsmith (recommendations in the Denver area would be appreciated). 3) Convince my wife that the trigger on an LE 6920 can't be replaced and that I must buy/build a new AR15 from scratch to use the trigger in. P.S. I apologize if this is in the wrong forum, if it is mods please feel free to move it and smack me upside the head. |

Man up and DIY you huge wuss! j/k, it's really easy to do. Here Bill Geissele himself tells you how to do it. Watch the video, read the instructions, and go slow. It's easy. If you have any questions after you've seen the instructions, just ask here. I've done an SSA, a service rifle trigger and a DMR. If you could build model airplanes, you can install a trigger. It really does feel good to do your own work. ETA Did it come with instructions? |
