| I have a brand new bushy carbon 15. No dust cover or forward assist. I'm it came factory with an aluminum upper and I'm wonder if anyone knows if it has the regular ar barrel nut threads or it uses the funky polyer upper barrel nut threads. I haves searched high and low, tried contacting bushmaster customer service. I have come up with nothing. All I can find info on is the polymer upper. Please help. I want to put a free float quad rail on but I don't wanna tear it down until I know for sure what I need. Thanks in advance. |

I do see what your saying but I was referring to the thread size. Sry for any confusion. Just wanna make sure before buying stuff for it and not being able to use it. The polymer Carbon 15 receivers used standard thread size. I have nev heard of a Carbon 15 with an alloy upper receiver. Best bet would be to sell this POS and move on. |
| Have u shot my gun? How sure are you that it is a POS? I have no reason to sell it as I have maybe 100 bucks out of pocket in it. I know it's not top of the line like my colt but it will serve the purpose I want it for. All I asked was a simple question not for smart ass coments douch bag! |

I have owned a Carbon 15........they are all pieces of shit. Not worth upgrading in the least. Truth hurts? Dig your panties out of your crack and see reality. |

Looks to be a solid rifle
Op- if FAAWrench's comment got under your skin that much, you're not going to like it around here. In my holy opinion, a carbon 15 is fine for a plinking gun. But if you really do have a Colt, just make sure you use that for the dirty work/home defense. What I was saying in my original comment is you can free float your upper. I recommend keeping it light tho. The heavier your upper is, the more stress that will be put on your poly lower. |

And those pictures are older ones with plastic uppers. Mine is aluminum... Hence the reason I started the thread to begin with 3 of the 5 pictures are broken at the lower, so just be careful with it is all i'm sayin. The poly can't take much abuse. Anhways like I said, yes you can free float it, standard threads, standard barrel nut. You are good to go my friend. |

I've personally see 2 break, and both broke on the lowers. If you already have a Colt (which isn't top of the line, btw), then why buy a crappy rifle that WILL eventually break? Sell it and buy ammo and mags for your Colt. |
| More ammo is always a good thing. My wife wanted the rife because because my le6940 is too heavy for her. She will probly shoot maybe 5-600 rounds a year max, unless she really takes a liking to it. And if the lower breaks i can replace it with a better one for no more than I have in it. She likes it, and that's what she wanted so that's what she got. The only reason I want to put a free float tube on is so I can put a flip up sights on it and a vertical grip for her. It's not gonna be a duty weapon of any sort. I'm just trying to set the rifle up the way she wants it. We put 60 rounds through it today with not one single issue and I was impressed with how well it functioned. |
