I have built several ARs in my life but never have I used a low pro gas block. Someone gave me a low pro block made from steel but doesn't know who made it. No markings. I haven't done enough research on gas block problems to know if there are real issues to worry about with a cheap steel block. Machining looks ok and it is going on a budget build. Any stories on stuff breaking off? Enough to worry me?

I have only ever once shelled out the coin for a pricey non-adjustable LPGB, and never will I do it again. Same shit. Don't worry about it. Spend the money somewhere else.

I've had the best luck with the clamp-on type, VS the ones that have the set screws that butt up directly into the barrel. Those tend to loosen up and leak, causing malfunctions.
