| So i recently ordered and received a new bcm bfh 14.5 midi. Shooting this rifle hard and getting it quite hot on a regular basis, how many rounds do you think it will last shooting mostly light reloads and some full power mil-spec 193 using an h2 buffer. I realize this question is asked all the time and very hard to answer and I apologize in advance for this question but it would be nice to hear for some of you out there with the same set up who run their guns hard and have high round counts. After many thousands of rounds if I have to replace a bolt and check headspace thats fine and if eventually she will only shoot 4 moa for thousands of rounds of hard use thats fine as well, I will just keep it as a defensive carbine. Doesnt have to be sub moa accurate either after all the hard use. Just want to know what I am getting into as far as life span with this. My colt sure has help up for a long while. |

It will last as long as the Colt. I would estimate the barrel will be ready to change between 10-20K rounds, depending on how it's operated. The bolt should last at least 5K if not more; replace and headspace as needed.
Honestly not trying to be rude here, but you are overthinking it a bit. To put it very simply; It will last a long time. |

If you're not using it on a registered full auto lower, it will last you a really long time even with hard use in semi auto. I have used mine for 2 years straight in classes, competitions, and weekly training with just under 18k rounds to date. Haven't had anything break on me just yet.
May need to replace my buffer spring soon but, won't do that till it starts malfunctioning. Keep in mind, this is my training rifle and I do keep a stricter maintenance replacement schedule on my primary go to rifle/rifles. |
