I am not military but many family members and friends are so that's my knowledge base. Navy police that I have actually seen are using M16A4 with KAC M5 rails, 3 pt sling and removable carry handle. Marines were using KAC M5 with removable handle, then ACOG. I have heard that the Eotech 555 was issued somewhere, but never seen it, and most of my buddies seem to be getting M4 or M4A1 now with ACOG. Not sure how the breakdown works, but that is for a Marine to explain.
I guess the answer is... Put an A2 handguard or a KAC M5 on there with a carry handle, Matech or an ACOG and you have a clone. Use the Eotech if you like it! |

Thanks What is your intended purpose for the rifle? I have a TA31RCOA4 on my A4 rifle. It's correct for a USMC A4 clone. Most of the shooting I do with this rifle is 200 meters+, the magnification of the ACOG is helpful as my eyes get older. |

I came here to say this. You will find all the M16A4 Clone info you will ever need there :) The AR15A4 is a fine candidate for that kind of project. I haven't been disappointed in mine. Enjoy! |
