I'm looking for opinions on those who use them. If I get one, I'm leaning towards the Gear Sector. How are the Larues? Are they meant to be used as a pair? It will be going on a DDM4 V3.
Thanks. |

The gear sector stuff is profiled to match up with tango down rail covers. When used together its sexy as hell lookin. This http://i1285.photobucket.com/albums/a584/GudOlBoy1/20140206_160440_zpsc99a1905.jpg Why would you want both a hand stop and a forward grip?? Why are they so close together? Can you actually get your hand in there? |

Can you actually get your hand in there? Yes I can get my hand in there. The spacing is about the same as an AFG. Just without the angle. GS VFG is a shorty, I use a thumb over grip so the VFG acts almost like a handstop. The handstop is more like a barrier stop if that makes sense. Different strokes and such... The angle of the picture makes it appear much closer together than it really is. |

I don't get why people use vfg's when handstops are available. |
| I've removed more handstops (and VG's) than I've left on in my less is more approach to rifles. The Stark VG holds a slight interest to me because I've only recently found out it exists. I doubt I'll buy that either. Only one of my rifles has an XTM hand stop and an extended flat panel in front no raised finger bump or whatever. It's on a Sig716 whose weight is a forgone conclusion anyway with a proprietary Sig cheese grater. I just don't care for any of it. |
| I looked at Gear Sector and Larue when I was trying to decide and ended up going with Gear Sector. I like that it uses a screw to clamp on rather than index clips like the Larue. The index clips are very sturdy with zero movement so I doubt you would have a problem keeping them secure. I just like the design of Gear Sector better. |

Thanks for the replies everyone,
Some excellent ideas out there. I think I'm going to try both a Gear Sector and a Larue(s) for a while to see what I want. My AR is a DDM4 V3 w/a DDM4 Rail 9.0 but I think I'm eventually going to swap that our for a DD MFR 9.0. |

I have an AFG on my older rifle, which I like, but on my new DD I installed the Magpul XTM handstop. I have to say I really like the handstop. I probably don't use it the way most people do though. I have the front and rear stops a little closer together. (I'm only using the 1 full panel inbetween them instead of the 1 & 1/2 panels) What I do is slide my middle, ring, and pinky fingers inbetween the two stops and I hook my index finger around the outside of the front stop. It makes for a much more natural and comfortable grip for me, and still allows my thumb to get up on top of the rail. Different stroke for different folks I guess, but that's what works for me. https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/t1.0-9/1511346_813631511998608_4305893452743307493_n.jpg I run mine the same way. Very comfortable and allows good control of the rifle. |

I'd be thinking of eventually mounting on this: https://danieldefense.com/rail-systems/modular-float-rail/modular-float-rail-9-0.html |

I'm very impressed with it. |

That IWC looks good. Does it jack your hand guard all up mounting that way? Is it secure and not spin around any? Thanks. Quoted:

I love my iwc handstop. Went through the same debate as you and landed on them. No regrets at all. That IWC looks good. Does it jack your hand guard all up mounting that way? Here is a pic of the LANCO Tactical grip stop...
