Am thinking about swapping out a quad rail for this, maybe on a couple of guns if I like it. Unfortunately don't have an opportunity to fondle one before buying. Anyone have one? Purpose is general use SPR type carbine. Thanks.

I've handled them, though not recently.  I thought it felt good in my hands.  If it matters, I have large hands, smaller hands might not appreciate it as much.

One of the Midway reviews says the top rail section is actually above the receiver rail plane. Just something to think about if you're running rail-mounted BUIS.

don't have one but I have a few of the round tubes. they are rock solid. the top rail will be taller than rcvr height, but they make a shorter front folding sight, and not a biggie if you use a gas block sight. I like them alot, but I think they are outdated and don't do anything better than other modern rails...and generally cost twice as much.

with that said...Ive been checking the EE daily for a delta to put on my A2 dissy build.

When building my SPR-inspired piece that was one of the goodies I wanted, then saw the price and personally couldn't choke that down without at least seeing one on a rifle in person.  Then I'm at the LGS and come across the Diamondhead VRS-T line.  Same triangular shape but with grooves that essentially make it one long finger-groove.  Flat on the bottom which is why I wanted the Delta to begin with.  Nice part was $175 vs $325, and I love the look and the feel.  To add to the tactile and the look I roughed it up with s red scratch pad then hit it with a fine mist of bedliner.  Made it look almost identaical to the UBR and close to the Hogue pistol grip.  Really happy with it.

Have to admit though I'd like to handle a stick with the Delta on it.  May still be convinced it's worth the $$$.

The Gen III is my favorite rail/hand guard system on the market. They're not too skinny my hand cramps up on it, fairly light weight, lockup rock solid, don't get as hot as aluminum and I can put a rail anywhere I want on it. It may be an older design but it's a good one.
