Maybe this could be found out with a little research but I'm being lazy. My question is to the people who know the difference or who have used both. The only aftermarket AR trigger I own is a timney 3lb. I love it , its crisp quick yada yada. But is the geissele ssa faster as far as reset time? Why?   The reason I ask is I can get off 3 shots quick (maybe .5 sec.) and keep em fairly accurate. However I shot with a guy the other day who had a geiselle and it was a touch faster on a 4shot burst. Is he just faster than me? I feel maybe the angle on my miad could effect it?? Thanks guys

What type of shooting do you do?  It is kind of apples and oranges.  One is a single stage competition trigger.  The other is a two stage combat trigger.

For me, I am much faster while maintaining accuracy with the two stage.  You don't come off the first stage for subsequent shots only letting the finger out enough to reset and then you have only the 2.5lb. pull of the second stage.

SD3G is one of the fastest

Most likely the finger not the trigger.

Maybe he was using a Geissele S3G or SD-3G, both very fast triggers.

I'm going to say my Timney has a slightly, ever so slight shorter reset. Shot both several times, one cause I own a Timney and my training buddy has the SSA. One could say I prefer mine cause I've used it for eight years now. However the reset is noticeably short on the Timney side. Both a excellent triggers, but I prefer my TG over the Geissle .

Super dynamic I believe ..?  Rings a bell. Yes I see where the timney shines is the follow up shots a a greater distance maybe with a little practice I can find a sweet spot between the grip and trigger and my hand placement Maybe change out the backstraps on the miad? I'm not at all disappointed with the speed I just know it can improve.

Wear gloves, and use a timer.

S3G & SD-3G are the fast Giessele Triggers and I think your timney is probably faster, I know the AR-Gold, Wilson 3G, JP, and Hyperfire are considered faster.  I have 2 SD3G triggers in my collection, only 3 range trips total and I'm at ~8 shots per second while staying on target.  The travel, reset, and overtravel are pretty long (safe) compared to other game triggers, both mine have more overtravel than my milspec type triggers (ALG ACT and Spikes Batttle) NiB which I found really surprising.  What I like the SD-3G is that I think it is more suitable for a general use carbine trigger and it goes through the same testing (100k dry fire and still in spec) that every Giessele does.
