I saw a unfired Knights Armament in 5.56 rifle today at the local gunshop for 1800 and would like to know if that is a good price. I know the Knight rifles are pricey and this is the first one I've ever seen in person. I forgot to ask the exact model but it had a rear site similar to the SCAR rear site and the seller added a tactical flashlight to the forearm. This rifle does not have a full quad rail but it does have screw holes to bolt on rails. 1800 seems like a nice price and I'd have to sell my DDV7 in order to buy the Knights. Need to know what oters think before I pull the trigger. Thanks

Sounds like a Mod1.  And YES, that is an excellent price.

With an SR-15 you're getting a free float rail, two-stage trigger, ambi lower, enhanced bolt design, KAC micro sites and SOPMOD stock.

If it's a MOD1, that is a terrific price. Most dealers that still have them are selling for over 2k. If it's not a full rail, it might be a normal Carbine. I don't know enough about the history of Knights to know the differences. You should post this in the Knights forum for better feedback.

Huh... I've seen the MOD 1 new for $1800-1900, I guess if disagree with the other people that say its an excellent value. I guess it's not bad if it really unfired.

I've been shopping for a MOD1 and/or LPR for about a month. The best price for a MOD1 online is $2050 (if you can find one).

I assume you are talking about a urx rail?  If so, that sounds like a mod1.  I bought one  in December for 2 grand online.  I jumped when I saw it because people were talking about them getting scarce.  Being a lefty, the ambi is great.  Also, the more I handle it, the more impressed I am with it.

I would say that is a good deal. Certainly worth it but I am the wrong person to ask. I paid $2800 for my Mod 1

It's the best price you will find.

Even online you will have to pay shipping and an FFL transfer fee.

Get it.

KAC has realesed the Mod 2 and going into production with that.
It will have the URX 4 keymod rail.
They have not said if They will continue to make a Mod 1 upper for sale but I am sure will offer the URX 3.1 rail.
If You, like Me don't like keymod the Mod 1 is the way to go, and as time goes on will be harder to find a new one.

i confirmed the rifle was a MOD 1 and while 1800 was a good price i decided to pass because after taxes and pics fee i was just shy of 2000 dollars. i checked out gunbroker and saw one NIB for 2050 and a that point 1800 for a unfired MOD 1 didn't seem like a great deal. i guess i'll have to continue to be happy with my DDM4V7. Thanks for everyone's input.

I sold my Mod1 a while back for under $1600.

You could offer less, and see what they say.

Also the only way they know it's unfired is because whomever sold them the rifle told them it is. So keep that in mind.

You could offer $1600 out the door and see if they make a counter offer.

I asked if there was any wiggle room in the price and they said no, if they had said 1500 or 1600 I probably would have bought it. i didn't see any brass marks on the brass deflector so it probably is unfired.

If it has the case, mags, lock, sling, swivels, rail covers and paperwork then I'd pay new for it. If it doesn't then its used, unfired or not.
