I am considering buying one of these uppers to put on my next build. I want a reasonably light weight rifle, but not a pencil barreled super light weight.

The last chrome lined barrel I had was a turd thrower. 3" at 100 yards with Hornandy TAP 55 grn.

How do they shoot and how light are they?

Don't know the weight but my 14.5 shoots 1 Moa or less at 100.

50 yards and it's the same hole.

Every ST barrel Ive owned or been in contact with has shot pretty much to the best of the ammos capability. Theres one of their stainless barrels here locally that's legendary.

I bought the Spikes lower yesterday for $90 otd at the gun show.

I ordered a lower parts kit with the ALG QMS trigger from Joe Bob outfitters with a mil spec buffer kit for $110 today.

I'm going to find a good deal on a Magpul CTR stock in the next couple weeks.

The Spikes LE mid length upper with MOE hand guard might have to wait a few months, but i think that is the route to take.

I have an aimpoint in a Larue mount and a blue force two point sling as well as a Fenix tk11 in a vltor mount waiting for it.
