Hello there,
I have a 7.5" threaded barrel on my most recent AR pistol build: http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb394/DrMilzie/th_arPistolLeft_zps2c29c911.jpg I would like to add a fake can/suppressor just for looks. I really like this StrikeIndustries fake suppressor: http://strikeindustries.com/shop/index.php/rifle-enhancements/ar15-platform/muzzle-device/barrel-extension/14-5-midlength-barrel-extension.html The problem is you need 2.244" of free barrel space beyond the gas block for this to work, My 7.5" barrel only has 1" between the gas block and the start of the threads. Is there such thing as a 1.5" or 2" threaded barrel extension so I could make this work? I really like the strike industries fake can because I can put my StrikeIndustries FatComp03 (see pic above) on the end of it. Thanks in advance Edit: Or could I possibly get the Fake Can above and take it somewhere and have them chop off 1.244" to leave 1" that will fit on my barrel?? |
| It would have to be slightly larger than the actual caliber because you would never get the rifling to match up. Plus, the seam where your barrel and the "extension" meet could make for a dangerous place for the bullet. At best, the rifle would never shoot straight. At worst, you'll have a kb. My thoughts at least... |

Draw up exactly what you want with very spcific measurements and send it to Paladin Machine Shop Service for a quote. He can make it but you bear 100% of the responsibility for the design and function. Anotherwords, you get a bullet strike and blow up something then it is all on you! Period.

A bit longer than you want, but close. You can contact him, I think he does custom lengths.

Something to make the barrel longer is not a barrel extension. The barrel extension is attached to the barrel when the barrel is made. A device to make the barrel longer would be a muzzle device. This, but I knew what he meant and wasn't going to split hairs. |
