Hey everyone, new to the community- I just had a pressing question that's been on my mind.
Is there a low profile gas block available that utilizes the front sight base pin notches? I personally just don't feel that low profile gas blocks are secure enough with just a couple of set screws. Under grueling conditions, I feel that it can shift forward or become misaligned, leaving you with a broken rifle. Any input would be appreciated- thanks everyone! |

Unfortunately, I have a windham, and it is the src with the railed gas block- guess I'll just buy a FSB, install it, and chop it down? lol Are you saying that you have a railed gas block that is pinned, and you want a pinned low profile gas block? If so, why not try grinding down the railed part of the gas block into a low profile? You could also have the railed gas block removed, and have a low profile gas block pinned to your barrel. |

You have 3 choices: -Send it to ADCO and have a pinned LPGB installed -Buy a pinned LPGB kit from Rainier, and drill, pin it yourself. -Install a set screw type LPGB. Some have had great success with these. |
| You're not going to move that gas block if you've got the set screws in there properly. Think about it. In most scenarios, if you whack the rifle, drop it, or somehow impact it otherwise, the impact will be taken by the hand guard. I seriously doubt you'll ever have a problem. Sure, it looks like a bit of a flimsy attachment system, but a lot of guys run it without any trouble. |

I have never had an issue with a low pro block moving if installed correctly, a little bit of blue loctite on them helps as will. I know aothers that have made a low pro a2 by cutting off the front sight. That is always an option, and may be easier the getting the a2 sight post and block off. Those pins are a beast to get out.
Good Luck |

You can however cut down your A2 FS right above the gas block section making that a low pro pinned gas block |
