Looking to pick up my first ar15, my brother in law has a core 15 that seems pretty good only Arab I've ever shot tho

After countless Google searches I've decided a 16" mid length is the way to go with a free float rail, I've got it narrowed down to two rifles so far, I'm liking the dpms more because it has a free float rail already but I thought I would see what the experts think

If it were my money, I'd buy a PSA carbine.  If you look, you may get one with an Aimpoint or Eotech for $999

You can add a rail rather easily, especially a troy, samson, centurion, etc, that mounts on the factory barrel nut.

The midlength gas isn't worth waiting to find a similarly priced rifle. Carbine works great.

14.5" in stock. Or, grab the 16".

So you shot your Arab brother in law bet that caused some excitement around the dinner table.

What you buy will most likely be dependent on how much money you have. I recommend you buy your first AR. Then build later whet you are good and familiar with the platform.
Should be able to get a Colt 6920 for around $950. Nice QUALITY starter, and user gun.  I own a few. But strictly build now.
Don't think I'd buy the DPMS 5.56.

I would look into building it yourself.  Look into Palmetto State armory or DSA.  These websites have daily specials which are damn hard to beat.

Lol darn autocorrect, yeah I'm definitely going to buy not build but I figured finding the rifle closest to what I want would save me time and money, the more I search the more wishy washy dpms seems and I haven't found a bad review for a colt other than price, armalite seems to do well on the Google search review, what about spikes tactical any good?

The Spikes is a way better rifle than the DPMS and Core15, and comes with the best customer service in the industry if you ever have a problem.

Just don't cut your lower into 4 pieces if there is something wrong with it

But even if you do, there's a chance it may be replaced anyway to make you happy after the tantrum settles down.
