Hi members, and I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving day. Here's my question.  Is it safe to keep ar15 magazines loaded indefinite or should you on occasion remove the rounds from the magazine ???? Does leaving them loaded all the time, weaken the springs...??????

Leave it loaded.  Springs wear out from use, ie load/unload, load/unload.  You can leave a mag loaded for years and it will still work.cheaper mags might suffer from feed lip separation over time though.

Load them and leave them alone.

the OP has been here for 8 years, and this is his first post.  You can cut him some damn slack.

Horribly beat to death issue, keep all of your mags loaded at all times end of story. The only ones you shouldn't load are ones that you've kept in original packaging and plan to resell.

It isn't just one horse.  It's been a whole herd of them!  And that's just in the one year I've been here.

Who cares if it's his first post?  Being a member for 8 years, and not knowing the answer to this question means that he hasn't read anything at all over those 8 years.  So why does being a member for 8 years (and never participating) make him entitled to any slack?   You should probably rethink your position.

Oh...   I'm not slamming you OP.  If you don't know, you don't know.  you can also do a forum search, btw.  I'm just addressing the other poster who had to weigh in unnecessarily.

I keep some of mine loaded but usually no longer than a year. So for no issues.
