| So, I've had this LMT Defender 2000 lower with a A2 stock on it for awhile, and from the time I bought it (which was about 3 months ago) I knew I wanted to make some kind of M16 clone. I've narrowed it down to two options. A BCM 20" GVNMT Profile A3 upper, or a J&T Distributing 20" A2 lower. Always wanted a A2, but I'm wondering if I should buy BCM for the quality. Are J&T uppers good quality? Thanks for all your help guys. |

A few months ago I bought a surplus FN M16a2 upper, complete. It had been rebuilt with a new FN barrel, new BCG, and only test fired. This stuff gets tossed out by various military units/branches/guard units all the time these days. If I were you, I'd wait and find one of these in the ee here, on GB, at a gun show, etc. That would be my choice for an A2 upper.
I hate A2 stocks so I refinished an older A1 for it, and am in the process of refinishing a lower to match it. That's my story, and I know I'm not directly answering your question. But it might interest you to know real M16a2 uppers, complete, are out there and affordably if you search. Mine came sans flash hider (had never been put in service), so $10 and some vice and wrench time and it was complete. |
