| Took delivery of a new BCM upper receiver last week. Looked good out of the box, but today when I took it to the range it was damn near purple in direct sunlight! LOL. Don't care much myself about looks/cosmetics, but definitely found it odd coming from a manufacturer with such a good reputation. Perhaps they should list these uppers as their "Rodeo Drive Camo" receivers?? Haha. Has anyone else had a similar experience with BCM upper or lower receivers? |

I had an FN upper that was extremely purple. Its the anodizing process, sometimes the colors are hard to nail down.
Functionally, it has no effect on the longevity of the finish. Cosmetically, youll find that some folks dont like it, and it affects the resale value. |

definitely found it odd coming from a manufacturer with such a good reputation. BCM has stated in the past they don't make "pretty" parts, they make reliable, combat ready parts. That's where they get their reputation. Purple tint in anodizing happens sometimes. |
